Our coverage
The Inner West Council area was formed in 2016 from the former Ashfield, Leichhardt and Marrickville councils. It runs from St Peters and Tempe near the Cooks River up to Balmain on the harbour, and west to Ashfield and Haberfield.
The housing is a real mix. At the 2021 Census, about 42% of occupied homes in the council area were flats or apartments, 27% were semi-detached, terrace or townhouse dwellings and 29% were separate houses. About 44% of homes were rented (ABS 2021 Census QuickStats). Many streets sit within the council's heritage conservation areas, lined with Victorian and Federation terraces and cottages.

Common jobs
These are the jobs that suit the area's older housing and its many units and rentals. Every property is different, so we look first and then give you a fixed quote.
Older terraces and cottages may still have ceramic fuses, or a mix of fuses and circuit breakers. An upgrade adds circuit breakers and safety switch protection.
Decades of renovations can leave wiring that's hard to follow. We trace the fault and explain what we found before any repair.
Terraces often need better light in hallways, kitchens and rear extensions, with LED downlights, pendants or wall lights.
With so many homes rented, we help landlords and agents with repairs and smoke alarms, and arrange access with tenants.
Switchboard upgrades in units, plus common-area and emergency lighting for strata buildings.

FAQ
If your question isn't here, call us on 0404 846 845.
Which Inner West suburbs do you cover?
The suburbs listed on this page. For other parts of the Inner West, call us and we'll let you know whether we can help.
Is there a call-out fee?
No, not during business hours for homes and businesses in our service area, and the site inspection is free. After-hours call-outs are priced with you before dispatch. You get a fixed quote once the scope is clear.
Can you upgrade the switchboard in an older terrace?
Yes. We inspect the existing board and wiring first, then quote the upgrade. Older wiring can have faults that make new safety switches trip, so we test the circuits and explain anything we find before work starts.
Do you work for landlords and agents?
Yes. We handle repairs and smoke alarms for rental properties, and arrange access with tenants. Our property management page has more detail.
Will I get a compliance certificate?
When the work requires one, yes. We provide a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW).
Do you handle electrical emergencies?
Yes, we're available 24/7 for electrical emergencies. If you see sparks or smoke or smell burning, switch off at the main switch if it's safe to do so, then call us on 0404 846 845. If there's a fire, call 000 first.
